Education: Getting to and from
Getting your students to, from and around Darling Harbour is easy.
By chartered coach
Each of the major excursion venues offer easy drop off and pick up of students by bus or coach. Coach parking is located on Wheat Road (next to Sydney Aquarium), Darling Drive and Harris Street.
By foot
Darling Harbour is an easy ten-minute stroll from Sydney's CBD, Pyrmont and Haymarket. Convenient entrances to Darling Harbour's pedestrian bridges are located from Market, Druitt, Bathurst and Liverpool Streets in the city and Union Street in Pyrmont. There is also a dedicated pedestrian access ramp from Haymarket to the Powerhouse Museum. Walking your students around Darling Harbour is safe and easy along clearly marked pathways and boardwalks that link together all the excursion venues.
By public transport
Major Sydney public transport networks of Cityrail and STA Buses connect with pedestrian access. For example, taking the train to Sydney's Town Hall means you can get to the pedestrian bridge from either Market or Druitt Streets in the city. Alternatively, alight the train at Central or hop off the bus at Railway Square to access the ABC Ultimo Centre and Powerhouse Museum.
For more information on public transport visit the State Transit website.
By water
If you prefer to arrive at Darling Harbour by water, Sydney Ferries operates regular services from Circular Quay to Sydney Aquarium and Maritime Museum wharves.
Captain Cook Cruises offer harbour cruises with educational commentary. Cruises depart from Aquarium Pier.
